Our Faculty
There are over 50 faculty members, who hold degrees from accredited colleges and universities in Canada, Pakistan, the United Kingdom and the United States. Over half of the teachers hold advanced degrees in their fields.
Tasneem Nazli Ashir
Tasneem Nazli Ashir joined The Lyceum in 2014. Previously, she was the Head of the English Department at the C.A.S. School. She has also conducted several workshops on teachers’ training and curriculum development. Nazli did her A-Levels from Karachi Grammar School and went on to get her Masters degree in English Literature from Karachi University.
Married, with two children, Nazli enjoys reading, writing, and gardening.

I am the Head of the Mathematics department at The Lyceum since 1992. I have experience of 47 years which also includes 10 years of teaching experience in Nigeria.
I have a master’s degree (MSc) in Applied Mathematics from the University of Karachi.

SANA ALLAHWALA
Sana Allahwala has been a member of the Math Department at the Lyceum for the past 10 years. She has been teaching AS and A Level Mathematics and Further Mechanics. Sana graduated from LUMS majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics and did her masters in Mathematics from the Universite de Montreal (Canada). Her thesis was based on topics in analytical number theory.
She is passionate about mathematics and hopes to one day go back to studying more mathematics!

MEHR ZAIDI
Mehr Zaidi has been at The Lyceum now for 20 years. She did her Masters in Genetics from Swansea in Whales UK. She moved back to Pakistan in 1997 and started teaching in 1999. Teaching, to her, is a passion; it brings joy to her to see the twinkle in the eyes of her students when they understand what is being taught. She has always tried to instill in her students a wonder of life rather than them working only for a grade. Today her students, who have become her friends, have spread to every corner of the world and are making her very proud.

Raaheen Mani
Raaheen Mani teaches English General at The Lyceum. She has a BA Hons in Politics & International Relations from the University of Kent, and an MA in International Peace & Security from King’s College, London. She is Patron of the LyPaws and LyFilm societies, as well as Co-Patron of the Student Council. She loves theatre, traveling & dogs!
RUKHSANA MASHHADI
Rukhsana Mashhadi has been teaching English General at The Lyceum since September 1998. After receiving an MA degree in English Literature from Karachi University, she worked with Dawn newspaper for eight years, editing and writing for three weekly pages, namely the Women’s, Entertainment and Children’s pages. During this period she also regularly contributed fashion articles to Herald Magazine. Over the years, Ms. Mashhadi has written on social issues and conducted interviews for various publications on a freelance basis.
SABEEN MUSTAFA
Ms. Sabeen Mustafa is an accomplished academic who has devoted the last decade to teaching ‘A level law’ as well as the ‘UOLIP (LLB)’ modules at various institutions. She completed her LLB(Hons) from the University of London in 2006, after which she immediately started teaching. Sabeen has led numerous mooting competitions/mock trials over the years, for which she trains her students. Her primary aim is to foster an enthusiasm for the study of law amongst her students and mentor them throughout their journey to becoming a lawyer. Sabeen has recently joined ‘The Lyceum’ as ‘A level Law Faculty.’

Shamsuddin Lalani is The Lyceum’s Physics and Maths teacher. He has been active in this profession for the past 8 years and has developed an interest in these subjects from a very early age. He studied at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

Nida Khan
Nida Khan has been part of The Lyceum’s Psychology faculty since 2011. As a practicing Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, she holds a Masters’s degree in working with Children & Adolescents from Rutgers University in the US, and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision from CPPD, a London based program.
With training in Mindfulness Meditation and Expressive Arts Therapy, she also has an avid interest in authentic creative expression and hence is the patron of the Spoken Word Society.
Nuzhat Tariq
Nuzhat is an English General teacher and a guidance counsellor at The Lyceum. She graduated from IBA Karachi with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, and majored in Media & Communications. Her thesis explored how stories are affected by the genre being used to tell them. She is also the patron of The Lyceum’s literary society, Lyterati.
Shehroze Shaikh
Shehroze Ahmed Shaikh teaches English General at the Lyceum. A graduate of the Social Sciences and Liberal Arts from the IBA, Shehroze has a keen interest in History, Politics, and Visual Culture. He is also the patron of Kaavish, Lyceum’s Urdu Literary Society. Outside work, he likes to write poetry, turn people’s tweets into history jokes, and put himself through the triple misery of being a fan of the Pakistan Cricket Team, Manchester United, and Rafael Nadal.
Zahra Rahim
Zahra Rahim has been teaching Business since the last twenty years. She has been associated with The Lyceum since 2006 as a Business teacher. Zahra has a MBA from Institute of Business Administration, Karachi and MSc in Human Resource Development from the University of Manchester, U.K. She has special interests in women entrepreneurship, management training and development.
Marium Ibrahim
Marium Ibrahim is a Psychology teacher and guidance counselor at The Lyceum. She has a B.A. in Psychology and Educational Studies from Macalester College in the United States, and an MSc. in Clinical Child, Family and Education Studies from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
