The Curriculum
 
The curriculum at The Lyceum School is designed to prepare students for the AS and A level courses offered by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
Students at The Lyceum School elect to study in one of three general areas, Arts, Commerce, or Sciences. The subjects taught at the A Level are Accelerated Mathematics, Accounting, Art, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computing, Economics, English Literature, Further Mathematics, History, Law, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Sociology and Urdu. English General is taught at the AS level.
All students must take English General and any one combination of three elective subjects from the Science, Commerce or Arts block. For further details of the subject combinations offered for 2008 please refer to Courses of Study (page 5) of the Lyceum Application Package.
 
 

Grading System and Attendance

The grading scale at The Lyceum School is stringent. High standards are set to encourage the students to strive in their studies, and a regular class attendance is required. In order to remain enrolled in a course, a student must maintain a minimum D average.


Academic Calendar

Following their first year of study, students take the AS Level examination in May/June in Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computing, Economics, English, History, Law, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Sociology and Urdu. English General, Accounts, Art, Further Mathematics and Literature are not offered at the AS level. Students complete the A Level examination in May/June following their second year of study. Results are announced in mid August.
